THE BEGINNING

A bunch of years ago this was my first attempt at a “room build” even though it was more ceiling than anything else 🙂 In my tiny garage at home I decided to try my hand at a sci-fi themed area and having literally NO wall space (other than a set of cabinets) to work with I decided to look up!

The cabinets (which I had wrapped previously, and were also pretty cool, in fact I may resurrect “Project Roundel” sometime in the future…) were treated to some heavy textured canvas material with a few added “control panels”. Those were done with graphics/vinyl as the doors don’t have a lot of depth to do real panels. Some fun futuristic painting and those were done. Looking up I sectioned off a piece and started to work painting and creating panels out of plywood and various greeblies made out of wood, old electronics and some wire. I didn’t have a great selection of greeblies back then, a far cry from what I have now 🙂

All in all it was a great experience and one that led me onto the path I’m on now.
